Mentoring for Ministry
Few churches have the problem of too many leaders; most of us struggle with shortages. You can have all the leaders you need right now within the congregation, but they will not surface without a proactive plan to identify and develop them.
At Biblical Ministries Worldwide, our passion is to start and grow biblically healthy churches around the world. BMW has been linking arms with “Companion Churches” that have a vision to produce leaders and missionaries from within their congregations, and has created a set of workshops to assist these churches in doing so. The first workshop is Mentoring for Ministry.
Mentoring for Ministry is an 8 hour workshop where you and your leadership team will receive practical suggestions to help you understand the biblical mandate to train servant leaders and then how to get started. Here are the major topics discussed.
§ Essence of the local church – discover how simple a church can be and still be biblical. You may be surprised!
§ The Church’s Mission – is to make disciples. But what does this mean? We’ll explore it from a thoroughly biblical perspective.
§ A Biblical Model of Discipleship – how did Jesus do it? How did Paul do it? Does it still work today?
§ Primary Role of Church Leaders – Role #1 is equipping the saints for the ministry. You may be surprised that Role #2 is developing leaders, and only the leadership of the local church can do it!
§ Understanding Biblical Mentoring -- a biblical process that is used to develop leaders for the ministry. Involving more than thus training classes, real leaders are developed in the context of a relationship with a mentor who is already a leader.
§ Mentoring in Your Church – Putting it all together, we offer practical suggestions on how to apply the principles of mentoring in your ministry to train up leaders for the ministry.
The workshop will be facilitated by one of our trained Workshop Faculty who has experience in using the concepts being discussed in their own local church and in conducting the workshop in other churches.
